New date for Spring Meeting at Chelmsford

We have secured a new date for our Spring Meeting at Chelmsford Golf Club later in the year, Thursday 13th September.  All playing members of the Society will be able to apply but preference will be given to those who applied for the original date and had a confirmed place.  As a lot of our members have expressed an interest in a new date we hope that members will support this event.     You can download an Application for Spring Meeting 13 September form from here and forms are also being sent/given to clubs.  We ask members to spread the word amongst Society members at your club and given that the original date was oversubscribed we encourage you to apply as soon as possible and preferably by 13 July.

If you applied for the original date and had a confirmed place, your cheque has already been cashed.  This money will be set against your next meeting booked but if you have no other bookings and are not available to play on the rearranged date we will refund your money.  Please bear with us whilst we work through this process.  If you have any questions regarding your payment/cheque please contact Anona Straker Hon Treasurer (contact details on our Contacts Page).

Spring Meeting and AGM cancelled

After much consideration, we have agreed with Chelmsford Golf Club to cancel our Spring Meeting & AGM on Thursday 10 May.  This is due to the exceptional rainfall/ground conditions, the expected rainfall in the next few days and, assuming the course is open, an anticipated trolley ban.   We hope that you will all understand and appreciate that we have made this decision in good time and with the interests and safety of the majority in mind.

We are continuing to work with Chelmsford about the possibility of rescheduling the event later in the year if we can agree a mutually acceptable date.   If we are successful in securing another date, all confirmed players for the original date will have first opportunity to apply, then reserves, followed by all other members.  Further information will be communicated as soon as possible including when/where the AGM will take place.

Stoke by Nayland and Orsett can still take more players, so please contact me if you would like to come to one of these meeting.

Problems with email

We have been experiencing further problems with our hotmail e-mail account.  Messages are being sent from this account, which do not originate from the Society.  We are trying to rectify the problem, but meanwhile if you have received an email from the Society email box with an unrelated subject heading we suggest you delete it from your system without opening it as it could contain a virus.
